Known to all his fans as Boozie, Marshall C Booze Jr. was born in Baltimore and began playing professionally in his early teens. By the time he was in high school, he was playing with a well-known local recording star, Jimmy Dotson and the Wild Ones. He helped to organize a group called the Soul Serenaders of which he became the guitar player; the late Benny Johnson was the lead singer. The group released two songs in 1966 titled 'Fresh Out Of Teardrops' and 'What Would You Do' at Tarx1010 Studio in New York City.
